Prey is an open-source anti-theft software designed for computers and smart phones. Basically, if you have a lost or stolen phone or computer with this software installed, you can easily track it and locate it from another computer.
Prey has some pretty exciting features, such as:
- 100% Geolocation Aware– Uses existing gps or wifi hotspots to triangulate its location.
- Wifi Auto Connect– Prey will automatically connect to the nearest wifi hotspot in order to communicate.
- Monitoring– When active, you can monitor remotely what is being done on your computer, grab a screenshot, and hopefully identify the person using your machine.
- Webcam Access– Laptop have a built in webcam? Use this feature to take a pic or video of whoever is using your computer.
